The Gymnasium Lilienthal is located in the municipality of Lilienthal in the administrative district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony and borders the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (for more information about Lilienthal, click on “Cities”).
We are a secondary school with about 1200 students from the municipalities Lilienthal, Worpswede and Grasberg but also from neighboring Bremen. Our 100 teachers offer a wide range of subjects from languages, to sports, to performing arts and even beekeeping. Together we try to give our students the best education possible to prepare them for university and working life.
In order to achieve this goal, we not only teach languages, science, arts and music, but we also have numerous extra-curricular study groups which - for example - take care of our bees, our aquariums, our school garden or support refugee centers in our municipality.
We are proud to say that we can offer every student an individual school career. Due to the wide range of subjects that we teach, we can cater for the needs of every student. Each department from physics to music tries to bring out the best in their students and supports their individual strengths.
We believe that languages and intercultural skills will be essential for our students in the 21st century. Therefore, we have numerous exchange programs with French and Spanish schools. Our Spanish exchange program had already been awarded Erasmus+ project before we were awarded Erasmus+ school by the European Commission in the context of our Dutch-German exchange program with Leiden.
In the light of this background we are very proud to be part of the Erasmus+ project ESEC and are delighted to have found new friends and partners in Leiden, Sardinia and in the Basque Country.
